But no. For the second time for two straight years, Spurs have ruined their chances for the title, finishing second for the second year in a row. This slip up from Tottenham means that Chelsea can win the title if they win their games against Middlesbrough and West Brom.

Although Spurs relatively dominated the game, they caused a few mistakes, one of which led to West Ham’s only goal. After the first half, in which not many chances created, Spurs looked fierce as though they were going to score the first goal of the game. However, in the 65th minute, there was chaos in the box, and Manuel Lanzini pounced on a fortunate opportunity, powering it home from close range, his ninth goal in 14 London derbies. Tottenham continued to receive opportunities but were unable to convert them leading to the Hammers’ walking away with three points. West Ham have now kept 3 consecutive clean sheets in the PL for the first time since December 2015.
